thanks for the play by play update. is there a radio station there that is streaming the game live? the only one i could find is not streaming correctly.

as far as Purdue being at the top of the Big 10 - of their 8 wins - NONE have come against a team with a winning record and a Divsion IIA team put up 35 points against their defense and the winless cellar dweller in teh MAC took them to overtime.

Their defense is just awful and anyone that really knows their team knows your QB is going to put up an exclamation point on his Heisman run (he's a stud even though he will be completely overlooked).

Joe Tiller is an asshole - I have personally known some guys that have played for him. Their comments are all pretty much the same. Break down his numbers - losing record overall against teams with a winning record. Losing record in the Big 10 against teams witha winning record. Only 3-4 wins against ranked teams vs. a lot of losses. lost most of his bowl games - most of those he should have won.

    he sucks...

go hawaii. i know their kicking game isn't good, but personally i disagree with june jones deciding to go for it on 4th and 3 from the 10 earlier in the game. that early in the game being ahead 7-0 you have to take the points. purdue isn't usc but they aren't idaho either.

purdue is the missouri of the big 10. they might have a good year here and there and post 8 wins once in awhile, but when it comes down to it you can bank on it that they will choke in a big game.

Tiller brought amazing talent to Purdue over the years and then he pissed it away with his lame ass play calling and constant blaming his OC or his DC. he plays "not to lose" the same thing that has hampered Michigan State and Iowa over the years.

i'm not as familiar with purdue, but what you are saying is pretty identical to what gary pinkel has done at missouri. he's brought great players to missouri but pisses it all away with terrible play calling.

    thanks for your comments, anonymouses!

    1st anonymous, have you tried:

you have to register, but it's free.

and 2nd anonymous, i know what you mean. i think they should've gone for 3 as well, but because of joe tiller's comments, i have a feeling UH wants to make a big statement against purdue. the more UH scores, the less the Tiller excuses diminishes from a Warrior victory. Tiller is just sad.

    GO WARRIORS!!!!!

i agree that tillers comments may have been a factor in that decision, however despite hawaii's high powered offense 3 is still the way to go that early in the game. its looking good right now though i'm very impressed with hawaii's defensive play. they did get that turnover at the perfect time at the 2 yard line which was very fortunate. To me its obvious that this is the best hawaii team in a long time. At least since I started following them early in the Chang era.

i tried that station - i kept getting server errors or blocks. tiller/purdue's high powered offense is a misnomer. most of their points and yardage are gained against second tier teams and they falter against teh big guys. i was a season ticket holder for 7-8 years and got sick of the same Tiller bullshit excuses and looked into the real numbers of his overall record. the only thing he did over his immediate predecessors was beat the teams he should have (that was a 4 game swing which was just good enough to get him to joke bowl games (minus the one rose bowl) which he never forgets to trumpet).

they are sad. he hangs his quarterbacks out to dry and disparages any player who leaves early or questions his coaching (after they left).

damn there is alot of hostility towards joe tiller haha. purdue sucks, personally i'm from big 12 country. but the way i view purdue is that they are a decent team that will never be great. they are a team that goes under the radar by having seasons between records of 4-8 and 8-4. never will be a powerhouse, but can't be any worse than illinois or northwestern.

uh oh it looks like purdue has made some adjustments on the defensive line hawaii might be in some trouble here.

now that call from june jones really hurts. the score would probably be 23-14 right now if they would've kicked the field goal instead of going for it on 4th down very early in the game.

wow. this just shows hawaii shouldn't be ranked in the top 25 their dominance only occurs due to the crappy teams they play week in and week out.

keep in mind the score would be 23-21 if they would've kicked the 27 yard field goal in the first quarter to go up 10-0 instead of the stupid decision to go for it.

what the hell are they doing. why would you kick the extra point there. go for 2!!!! cmon its obvious what is the coach thinking.

although i am not watching the game and only getting the play y play over the blog - i know what happened... purdue takes the lead after making the adjustments... AND THEN GOES BACK TO THE PREVENT FUCKING DEFENSE... good ole tiller, cant stand to have a lead...lol

good thing for purdue that hawaii can't stop purdue's offense. they will just drive down the field i'm sure.

dont worry - purdue will now go into their patented Prevent Offense with a lead in the 4th Q. run up the middle, run up the middle. 6 yard completion on 3rd and 8. Punt.

maybe purdue would do that against a big 10 team. but hawaii has no defense. painter with another touchdown pass. 35 points in one half.

wow - apparently Tiller was pissed and scrapped the prevent offense...must be getting his ass kicked from the front office for the dismal season ticket sales this season...

tiller is still tiller, but a mid level big 10 team will beat a top WAC team 8 out of 10 times. hawaii whines about not getting respect, but its because they honestly don't play anyone good and when they do, they lose more often than not.

apparently tiller didn't ditch the prevent defense. great game going on. which coach will screw it up

score would be 38-35 if june jones would've kicked a field goal in the first quarter!!!!!

LOL - it will be a shoot out til the end... But I am confident that Tiller will end up screwing up last...

in line with the poster above - Tiller's first comment when interviewed after the loss (if they lose) will be Painter's interception...

lol - I was referring to the interception that lead to the go ahead score not the one in desperation time
