WitP: Ingram Released, Owens Player of the Month

Jake Ingram was released by the Patriots today.
Jake Ingram's recent inconsistencies have cost him his job.
The Patriots second-year long snapper was released Tuesday, according to agent Wynn Silberman, after Ingram struggled over the last month.

In a related move, the Patriots signed long snapper Matt Katula, according to a source and his agency's Twitter account. Katula, who signed a two-year deal with the Patriots, was with the Ravens from 2005-10.
In some better news, Chad Owens was named CFL Special Teams Player of the Month again.
For the second consecutive month, dynamic Argos’ WR/KR Chad Owens has been named CFL Special Teams Player of the Month. Owens has already set a club record for being named CFL Player of the Week six-times (weeks 2, 7, 12, 14, 17 and 18), and is now a two-time CFL Special Teams Player of the Month (September & October) in 2010. He was a unanimous selection for this month’s award.

In five (5) games during October, Owens shredded opposing special teams coverage units. He accounted for 1,090 total kick return yards and scored a 109-yard missed field goal return touchdown against Winnipeg.
