Warriors in the Pros: Travis LaBoy

Travis LaBoy was recently shorn of his flowing locks, which he donated to "Locks of Love."
Turns out both Travis and his wife Nohealani, like so many others, have had cancer affect their family. So they both decide to trim up top for “Locks Of Love,” an organization that collects hair that can be fitted to give to those who have lost their hair because of cancer treatments. Travis cut 11 inches of hair off his head. Nohealani cut 12.

“We were going to do a hair-drive kind of thing at the beginning of the season when I first got here but I didn’t want to make a parade out of it,” LaBoy said. “But cancer affects damn near everybody these days, unfortunately.”

LaBoy said the decision wasn’t without its pain – his wife talked about getting hair extensions afterward. “I said, ‘What’s the point?’ ” LaBoy said. “If you get the extensions you’re not going to feel the importance of the act.”
Awesome.
