The $400k(?), T.J. Alofipo, Parking

UH's dispute with June Jones over the $400k has been resolved, but the terms are a seeeeecret!
Both sides agreed to the settlement to get the matter behind them as the football season approaches, although details must still be worked out on when and how Jones will make the payment.

The amount remains confidential.

Dave Reardon writes an article about T.J. Alofipo, who committed to UH yesterday.
"He has great instincts, he understands how to play the game, understands the nuances," Silverado coach Andy Ostolaza said of the 17-year-old. "He has the ability to play multiple positions. His size and footwork, he's got footwork of a linebacker, but it's easy to project him as a defensive end because he's probably still growing.

"We also play him at tight end because he has such good hands."
Stephen Tsai has more great quotes.
"He sat down and talked to me about it," Ostolaza said. "I don't think there was any doubt about what he was going to do. It's easy. Two words: Tony Tuioti."

Tuioti was Silverado's defensive coordinator last season. Tuioti now is the Warriors' director of player personnel, a non-coaching job that coordinates academics and recruiting.

"Tony made T.J. into the player he is," Ostolaza said. "He put him in that position. He's almost a father figure to him. Losing Tony was harder than losing any player. He had a great impact with some of our kids."

Alofipo said of Tuioti: "He's a great coach. He's there for his players."

And the Aloha Stadium parking plan for UH football games has been tweaked.
Season ticket holders who pay more than $400 in combined premium ticket fees and have multiple seats will not be restricted to purchasing a single reserved parking stall for Warrior football games, athletic director Jim Donovan said.

Donovan said for each multiple of four seats a reserved parking pass may be purchased.

"We believed criticism (of limiting reserved parking to one pass only) was legitimate and have adjusted the policy to make it more fair," Donovan said. "It didn't make sense for someone who had eight or 12 seats to be limited to one pass."

I think the important phrase here is "details must still be worked out on when and how Jones will make the payment."

So JJ will be paying something to UH--that is all we know. Too bad there has to be a loser in this case.

Now as for Frazier, I can't believe that with all the attorneys on UH's side, we let him take so much money from UH--basically he stole so much because he didn't do any work that he should have been doing. On top of that, he got paid to go away--how dumb is that and then the President and Chancellor are going to get substantial raises--where was their oversight while Frazier wasn't doing his job?

If there is anyone that likes Frazier, I apologize for always making Frazier the "butt of all my jokes." Let me explain: I think Frazier is a horse's butt and he is a joke. And let me also say that I like horses and apologize to any other horse lovers for comparing a horse's butt to Frazier.

Not football but about Hawaii people, Parker is currently leading the golf tournament by a number of strokes. Hope Wie does well today.

WOW, Reardon's blog does identify who the 13 year old is that received the scholarship offer--he is too big to have played any organized football!!!

    Fuzzy,
I agree with your comments on HF. The problem is when it comes to legal stuff black and white turn shades of grey. I still think whatever JJ pays, he should get "reimbursed" from HF.
