Hawaii 28, Nevada 26 (w/UPDATES)

UPDATE: Here's some highlights of the game from ESPN News.

Dan "Clutch" Kelly.

You can't ice the Iceman!

And like a Phoenix out of Arizona, Tyler Graunke rose to the occasion.

WHAT A GAME. Colt Brennan is a great player, but without him, these Warriors stepped it up, rallied together, and showed everyone how great a team this is. With so many things going against them, what a great win by UH on the road.

WAY TO GO WARRIORS!!!!

News articles to follow. Here's some unofficial game stats from CBS Sportsline.

UPDATE: Here's a post-game wrap-up from Stephen Tsai.

Here's a wrap-up from Dave Reardon.

Here's an AP wrap-up via ESPN, so it has links to stats, scoring breakdowns, video, etc.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Via the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, here's a wrap-up from The Sports Network.
"That was a total team victory right there," Graunke said. "We never won in Reno, and I really wanted to step up and prove to my team and help them rally."

What a game! I give credit to Nevada. They are a tough team that never gave up. Now the Warriors really have to rise to the occassion next week vs Boise. Let's hope everyone is well and ready to go full speed!

yeah, that 8-minute drive nevada had with i think two 4th down conversions was agonizing. but UH hung tough! glad to see Lafaele, Rivers and Veikune back out there after suffering injuries earlier.

I think everyone can at least agree that Hawaii should be ranked number one in terms of entertainment.

Next week's rankings should be interesting...it's possible that Boise State could end up with a higher BCS ranking before the game next week despite the Warriors being undefeated.

Hope that Brennan comes back 100% next week and Hawaii finally earns the respect they deserve!

WTG Warriors, like Coach JJ said after the interview "The LORD has blessed them", glad 2 c Colt is doing fine and it's how they do as a team. They did a great job and like the team unity. We got to remember the story of David & Goliath. We may be like the giants on the mainland, but we for sure, are truly blessed, that is all that matters. How the final outcome will be. AWESOME! ty Jesus

When I got home, I turned on the tv and caught the last 15 minutes of the game. I'm telling you, I had more excitement in those fifteen minutes than I did in the entire Fresno game last week, and I was at the stadium for that one. When the iceman came through with that kick, you could hear my shout throughout the neighborhood. Tom E

joepet - i'm hoping the humans and the computers will reward the team for pulling out an unbelievable victory on the road. but if boise does pull ahead, hey all the better for the showdown on friday :)

kahala, well said. the warriors did an amazing job of coming together and coming away with a victory. great team effort on both offense and defense.

anonymous - thanks for that story. i was jumping up and down and i'm sure i scared some of my neighbors too, haha. what a game.

those voters and stupid computers better not dock us on our marginal win because we didn't blow them out.

we used our 2nd string qb. and he did a fine job.

can't say the same for oregon. their guy was far from quality. you take out anyone else's star player and see how you do.

big props to "IN GRAUNKE WE TRUST" as well as The ICEMAN, Dan Kelly.

also big thanks to our defense who stopped boise on their last drive to give us the chance to drive to win it.

    BOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Headlines should read: " Kelly beats Nevada twice." What a team effort. Brennan made a great cheerleader, but can't wait to see him back against Boise.

You guys did it again, winning another thriller! Congratulations again. Your team has shown poise and confidence, even when down by a point with less than 3 minutes remaining to make the drive and closing it off with that nail biting kick by "Iceman" kelly. You've proven that even with the game on the line, and with limited minutes on the clock, your team didn't break down, as usually seen on other teams.

Looking foward to watching you guys next week agains Boise. I know you guys will be a different team at home versus the road.

    Congratulations once again. Go Warriors...!
