UH and the BCS
Now that the first BCS rankings of the season have come out with UH at #18, here's what people are saying about Hawaii's chances to make a BCS bowl.

- "A few more upsets (of top teams) to help clear the way up the polls.
- "One of the BCS conferences ends up with a stinker of a champion so that Hawai'i doesn't have to get as high as No. 12 in the BCS.
- "Quit letting bad teams take them to (overtime)."
Please don't suggest unbeaten Hawaii. Just don't. (Even the initial BCS rankings have them at No. 18, a distant six spots from a guaranteed BCS bowl spot.)From "Mr. College Football":
Hawaii does not deserve a BCS bid: Fun team to watch. I like June Jones. Quarterback Colt Brennan will be a pretty good pro. But the Warriors play a ridiculously easy schedule and have trouble every time they come to the mainland. The BCS rules were relaxed in order to give deserving teams (like Boise State in 2006) access to the big bowls. Can anyone really say this schedule is any worse then OSU or BC? If Hawaii wins out, will they not get a BCS bid like BSU did last year? And if not, why not? What is the difference b/w the 2?So that's a sample of what's out there, take from it what you will.

another bachi moment for san jose.
first off, you're a guy. why the hell are you wearing a bra made of coconuts.
secondly. if you're cheering for san jose, why the hell would you dress up like you're from hawaii (although we don't dress up like that to begin with).
thirdly. (is that a word). THERE'S NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL! actually, i might've broke down if we lost too. so nvm on that one.
fourthly, wear your hat straight. what so cool about fools wearing their hats crooked like they're an idiot? look at you kid, you look stupid. (that had nothing to do with football, but just one of the little things idiots do to irk me)
AND why is it that everytime hawaii plays someone on the road, its time to have a "luau" and bus out the aloha shirts and fake lei? usc did a whole hawaii themed halftime show (hawaii 5-0, magnum P.I., etc) when we went to the coliseum in '03.
we don't wear cowboy boots and hats when we play wyoming, or a dress shirt, slacks, tie, nametag and bicycle when we play byu.... ok, i know i'm going to hell for that one, but you get my point.
thats it. i'm done. we won. yay. i'll shut up.

Can we please make this a sticky article (like on forums), so when Hawaii not only goes to but also wins a BCS bowl all these nay-sayers can eat their words!!!!
I remember thinking it would be pretty great for Hawaii to even get to a BCS bowl, but now I really want Hawaii to "smoke" whoever they play in a BCS bowl just to make all those experts, analysts, and other people who doubt Hawaii look like fools.
But than again with all the upsets this season, I don't think any expert can predict any thing. I recall watching.. I think it was the LSU & Kentucky game, and when Kentucky was leading LSU, one of the two ESPN commentators who was allegedly an expert said something about "Expert analysis of what's going on in the game..?" he said "I have no idea what the heck's goin' on.." That was one of the first smart things I've heard an expert make these past couple of weeks. Since in the beginning of the game he was all about the LSU D shutting down Kentucky.. lol..

chawan - yeah, i thought that pic went hand in hand with the SJSU players mocking UH fans with the shaka. i know they're trying to be funny, and it is -- hilarious actually -- but not in the way they intended. total bachi!
anonymous, i'm wondering if i should just compile all this hating on hawaii, but i just get fed up hearing the same old crap being regurgitated over and over. anyway, in an act of faith, i will put this post in the "Favorite Posts" link later tonight. thanks for stopping by!
