UH Remain at #19 in AP, Up to #17 in Coaches Poll
Three teams fall past while three others leapfrog UH as the Warriors remain at #19 in the AP poll.
And UH gets leapfrogged by two teams but still move up one spot to #17 in the Coaches Poll.

Why?...it's because they beat higher ranked/quality teams...BCS conference teams. Hawaii was lucky to move at least in the Coache's Poll. Remember at the beginning of the season, all the critics were saying that only 1 Division 1-AA team will count towards their chances of being considered for a BCS bowl. Rankings are just another link to the puzzle.

i was hoping the WAC would be a stronger conference this year. but other than fresno almost beating texas a&m, WAC teams have been 0-13 or so against BCS teams, and not even that good against non-BCS teams. so the WAC competition, unless there's a big improvement, won't really help UH's chances to ascend in the polls. but being this high early on in the season, as long as there's not too much leapfrogging going on, UH should be where it wants to be at the end of the season. it would also be a big help if michigan wins the big 10. that would be awesome on so many levels.

WAC is arguably one of the worst conferences this year. 2 teams have winning records, Hawaii and Boise State. Really horrible timing considering the scheduling problems.
The most important thing for us, I think, is that all the undefeated teams lose. If we're 12-0 by the end of the season and only 5-6 unbeatens are left, we'll be Top 10 by default if nothing else. Well, unless we beat Idaho, Utah State and the like by 1 again.

yeah, just gotta blow out teams and have colt sit out as many 4th quarters as possible. that should help. just hope san jose and nevada can win a few more games before UH plays them on ESPN.
